The Knights of Saint
Andrew is a service organization for the 32°, "Black
Cap" Scottish Rite Masons. It was organized by members
of the Pasadena Valley Scottish Rite to give the "Black
Cap" members more to do within the Consistory during
Reunions and to help them to become more active in the
Consistory as a whole.
Our Blue Lodges
teach us that the principle tenets of Freemasonry are
Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth. As exemplified in the
Scottish Rite 29th degree, we are taught the great
virtues of knighthood: humility, patience, self denial,
charity, generosity, clemency, virtue, truth, and
honor.
The aim of the Knights of St. Andrew is to
provide selfless dedication to and for the promotion of
our Masonic Fraternity within the Scottish Rite, our
community, our jurisdiction, and state.
"Humility, Patience, and Self-denial
are the three essential qualities of a
Knight of St. Andrew of
Scotland..." -
Albert Pike, Morals and Dogma (pg
801)

29th degree - Scottish
Knight of Saint Andrew The virtues of this
degree are "Love of God, loyalty to superiors, faithful
adherence to promise and active resistance to unfair
judgment." There is no apron. The jewel has two parts:
on top is a gold hexagram, made of concave-outward
triangles, with a compass open to 25 degrees inside it.
On the bottom is suspended a gold St. Andrew's cross
("X"), with a knight's helmet, winged serpent ouroboros,
key, and a point-down triangle.
